Leave it to Aiden James to pull me into a story I swore I wouldn’t read. After reading the first book of the series, I gave it a rave review while swearing I would not read book two. Book one creeped me out enough. Well, I caved and read the book. I couldn’t put it down which made me even madder that I started it.
A darker force now roams the Tennessee valleys and mountains. It’s a much more powerful force than Ally Mae and is determined to punish everyone involved including those whose Ally Mae tortured just a few months before. I made sure I read this one during the day. Won’t make that mistake twice.
Familiar characters can be found in this book as several find themselves tortured by the new evil as they had been with Ally Mae. It’s a tale that will have you praying, or hoping, this doesn’t go to film. If it does, I’m not going. Too scary for me.
If you like stories that deal with entities from beyond the grave that aren’t too friendly, okay downright evil, you have to read this book. It is gory to a degree but not overly so. But if you are squeamish about blood, you might want to pick another read today. But if you don’t care, please read this book.
Note: I received this book from the author with no expectation of a positive review.
