I loved the historical setting, and the characters had me reading more. There were a few proofreading issues that distracted me from the story, but over all it was a good read.
You will not find a whimpering female in this story. It’s not that much vintage. This woman is stubborn and causes the men all sorts of grief. I like that in a story.
The man has a soft side but it isn’t so soft that he is too modern or sensitive of a man. But he borders the two worlds. I think he will help draw some contemporary readers in.
The woman is a good pain in the rear for the man. She gets under his skin, but like many of the vintage women she reacts in ways that have me shaking my head. I think it is just me because I would not have reacted that way.
A great read if you are yearning for a vintage style romance. Give it a try.
Note: I purchased this book with my own funds with no expectation of a positive review.
