The worst thing you can do in any aspect of your life is refusal to change. Nothing good can come from it. Change is inevitable. Willingness will get you ahead of the crowd and find you success.
Dangers of Being Rigid
How does a young sapling survive the strong winds of a thunderstorm? It bends. The more rigid objects break and become damaged. Flexibility is safer and less painful.
When it comes to marketing, it could mean the difference between success and failure. Refusing to change and use new resources could have you sitting alone in the dust of the others who have embraced the change and found some degree of success.
Rigidity keeps you stuck where you are. There is no going forward.
Change is Inevitable
No matter how hard you try, you cannot avoid change. It will come. It is inevitable. You cannot stop it. So why resist?
I’m not saying you have to like change, but you have to be willing to adjust. I don’t like changes social media brings upon us as they change rules. But I have to adapt. Without adapting, I will lose the momentum and readers.
What you might not realize is that some change that you resist at first or feel is not good could be the best thing that ever happened for you. Learn to breathe and go with the flow for better success.
Let’s start off with the fact that it is not easy. Change never is even when it is something you are excited and eager for. It stresses the body and mind out and causes you to stop and readjust nearly everything. That being said….
Don’t react immediately. I’ve watched those initial reactions. They are full of shock, dismay, and anger. List listen to the change. Yes, you’ll feel those feelings rising up, but don’t let them take completely over. A woman I work with does that she looks like someone possessed. Trust me! That is no exaggeration. Don’t be that kind of person. Listen.
Breathe. That’s the next step. As the emotions rise up to the surface, take deep breaths. You might want to take a walk. Do whatever it is that you do eliminate stress. Express your anger but in a mature way as you keep it under control.
Reason out the pros and cons. Everything has something good about and something negative. It doesn’t matter how you see it. There is something on both sides.
Map out the best way you can adjust with the least amount of pain.
